The fog began to set in as anglers were launching their boats for day 1 of the Phoenix Boats Bass Fishing League Tournament on Wheeler Lake October 7, 2021. The fog created a short delay to the take-off. Wheeler Lake fishing can be difficult (inconsistent) this time of year. The lake levels had already started to drop towards winter pool but a lot of rain during the practice days brought the water back up to full pool for day 1 of the event. Some anglers would have to make adjustments to their plan throughout the day to account for the changing conditions.
